This week in TheHill.COM Michelle Fischbach waxed poetic regarding the importance of the upcoming Farm Bill and its criticality to rural Minnesota. That's rich coming from a congressperson who at the first opportunity jumped from the House Ag committee to the Ways and Means committee, leaving the third largest congressional district by number of farms in the United States without a voice on the Farm Bill. Who now will advocate for our sugar beet farmers, dairy Farmers, hog farmers and our ag centric communities in rural Minnesota? Great question, we'd love to hear a real answer Michelle.
Our former congressman summed it up: "Asked whether serving on Ways and Means would be good for farmers, Peterson said, "It is for hedge managers.""
